The RSAG are presently involved in a number of initiatives on suicide prevention and bereavement councelling. We are networking with other organisations to identify a full range of effective services presently available in Limerick. We will provide a full list of these services in the very near future.
One of the groups we are in contact with, is organised by Betty Baker of the Pastoral Centre, Denmark, St. Limerick.
The Pastoral Centre, organises, co-ordinates and implements a “Suicide Healing Programme” under the auspices of the Mid-Western Health Board. The aim of this programme is to help those who have experienced a death by suicide to find healing and support in a safe and caring environment and to provide an opportunity for individuals to meet others who have had a similar experience.
A suicide support group currently meets at the pastoral centre on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 8pm.
The centre also puts people in touch with counselling services.
