The
Rosbrien Suicide Awareness Group was formed by a concerned group of
parents because of recent tragedies in the Rosbrien area. Our aim is to
create an awareness of the epidemic problem of suicide and make
information on services available known to the public.
Our
main concern is for the families and youth of the area.
We
intend to become ‘Active Listeners‘ for all those concerned and
those who have been affected by suicide. We also intend to very
carefully examine the National Task Force Report on Suicide 1998 and
ensure the full implementation of its 84 recommendations.
We
propose to help improve bereavement support services presently
available, by using our groups own experiences as guidelines of
shortfalls, and, to make the community aware of these services.
